Elliott Hood
Regent Elliott Hood was elected in November 2024 as CU Regent At-Large, representing the state of Colorado on the University of Colorado Board of Regents.
Hood and his wife, Caroline, are both CU Boulder graduates and live in Boulder with their two young boys, Alden and Michael. Hood is an education attorney and partner at Caplan and Earnest, a law firm that specializes in representing public school districts in Colorado. Hood is also a former public school teacher and a development director for a large education nonprofit.
Hood earned his law degree with high honors from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. After law school, Hood completed two judicial clerkships, first for a judge on the Colorado District Court and then for a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
In addition to his legal practice, Hood is very active in his community. He serves as the Chair of a city board in Boulder, formerly served as the Vice Chair of a state commission on disability access, and serves as a board member of several nonprofit organizations.
Hood is honored to have been elected to the Board of Regents and is excited to serve this amazing university alongside his fellow Regents.
